Octopus Trusted Partner

Referred by Octopus Energy. Vetted for quality, customer service, and technical competence — the independent stamp that Octopus puts on installers they're happy to send their own customers to.

What Is the Octopus Trusted Partner Scheme?

The Octopus Trusted Partner scheme is Octopus Energy's referral programme for the low-carbon technology installers they've personally vetted. When an Octopus customer wants to go solar, add battery storage, or fit a heat pump, Octopus refers them to a small network of installers they've chosen because they trust the workmanship, the customer service, and the aftercare.

It's not a marketing badge you can buy. Octopus actively reviews the companies they put their name behind — and they keep reviewing them. An installer on the Trusted Partner list is there because Octopus is comfortable putting their own customers in that installer's hands.

For homeowners, it answers the single hardest question in renewables: who do I actually trust to do this work? If Octopus — a company whose brand depends on customer experience — is willing to refer you to an installer, that's a meaningful signal.

What Octopus Requires from Trusted Partners

Full Industry Accreditation

Trusted Partners must already hold MCS certification, RECC membership, and TrustMark registration. These baseline accreditations are the starting point — not the finish line — for the scheme.

Verified Customer Satisfaction

Octopus looks for a proven track record of positive customer reviews and low complaint rates. Installers with patchy reputations don't get through the door, regardless of how many certificates they hold.

🔧

Technical Competence

Octopus reviews the quality of installation work, the appropriateness of system designs, and the standard of post-install commissioning and documentation. Cutting corners on kit or workmanship disqualifies you fast.

📞

Aftercare and Responsiveness

Being a Trusted Partner isn't a one-time audit — Octopus monitors how installers handle post-installation queries, warranty claims, and anything that goes sideways. Poor aftercare ends the partnership.

Why This Matters for You

The renewables market in the UK is growing quickly, and that brings a real problem: a lot of new entrants are setting up shop with limited experience, unclear warranties, or overly aggressive sales tactics. Picking the wrong installer costs thousands and can leave you with a system that under-performs for its entire 25-year life.

The Octopus Trusted Partner scheme is a useful short-cut. It means:

  • Someone else has already done the due diligence. Octopus has independently reviewed our work, our documentation, our customer reviews, and our internal processes before adding us to the scheme.
  • We have skin in the game. Referrals are a meaningful part of how Trusted Partners grow — which means we have a strong commercial incentive to treat every Octopus-referred customer well, because the next referral depends on it.
  • The customer experience is aligned. Octopus is a customer-service-driven energy supplier, and they only refer their own customers to installers who share that philosophy. If you're used to dealing with Octopus, you'll recognise the tone.
  • Integration with Octopus tariffs is straightforward. We know the Octopus product range — Agile, Go, Cosy, Intelligent Octopus, Octopus Flux — and we design systems so you can actually take advantage of time-of-use tariffs, not just have them in theory.

How Blue Electrics Fits In

Blue Electrics was accepted onto the Octopus Trusted Partner scheme because we already operate to the standards Octopus expects: MCS-certified installations, RECC membership for consumer protection, TrustMark registration, NAPIT-registered electrical work, and a twenty-five-year track record of doing things properly across South Wales.

We design every system around how you actually live and how you'll actually use energy — not around a generic product bundle. If you're an Octopus customer on Agile or Intelligent Octopus, we'll make sure the battery charge windows, export settings, and inverter behaviour are set up to play nicely with your tariff. If you're switching to Octopus as part of going solar, we'll walk you through the SEG registration and export MPAN process too.

And if something goes wrong — a tripped inverter, an app glitch, a question about why generation dropped last Tuesday — you call us. Not a faceless warranty number, not a chatbot, not a supplier's support line. That's the level of aftercare the scheme expects, and it's how we've always worked.

Getting Started

If you've been referred to us by Octopus, mention it when you get in touch — it helps us pick up your details more smoothly. If you're not an Octopus customer, it doesn't change anything: we serve every customer to the same standard, referred or not.
