Home charging is the single biggest cost saver of EV ownership — but only if the charger is right for your car, your tariff and your roof. We install the chargers we trust, from the brands that back them up properly. No white-label rubbish, no vendor lock-in that nobody's heard of.
Spec sheets all start to look the same after the first three chargers. These are the six factors that genuinely change how much you'll like living with your charger in ten years' time.
If you have — or plan to have — solar panels, a solar-aware charger (Zappi, Hypervolt, Wallbox Eco-Smart) can divert surplus generation straight into your car instead of exporting it at a rubbish SEG rate. Easily worth £200–£400 a year on a 4 kW system.
Octopus Go, Intelligent Octopus, Agile, EDF GoElectric — a charger that talks to your tariff and car can slot-fill overnight at 7p/kWh without you lifting a finger. Ohme and Hypervolt are best-in-class here; most others are competent but not seamless.
Tethered chargers (cable built in) are more convenient every day. Untethered (socket only) suits households with multiple EV types or tight parking. We'll advise based on where your car parks and how much of a trip hazard a trailing cable would be.
A good app is something you'll interact with every day for a decade. A bad one will drive you mad by month three. Tesla, Ohme, Hypervolt and myenergi all do this well; some of the cheaper brands don't.
Home chargers are outdoor electrical equipment that should last 10+ years. Standard warranties run 2–3 years; premium brands (Hypervolt, Simpson & Partners) offer up to 5. Equally important: can you actually reach UK technical support when something goes wrong?
The OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant offers up to £350 towards install for eligible flat and rental-property applicants. Only approved chargers on the OZEV list qualify — all the brands on this page do. As approved installers, we handle the whole claim for you.
Eight hand-picked manufacturers, each chosen for reliability, genuine UK support, and a strong answer to at least one of the factors above. We'll recommend the right one for your setup — not the one on the highest margin.

Sleek, fast, and deeply integrated with Tesla vehicles. Up to 22 kW, power-sharing for multi-charger households, and first-class app experience.
Premium British-designed charger with stunning glass finish and deep smart-tariff integration. Built-in CT clamp, solar divert, and RGB cable-lighting done tastefully.
The UK's most-installed home charger for good reason. Solid, no-nonsense kit with rock-solid reliability and the biggest installer network in the country behind it.
Norwegian-designed, fiendishly compact, and engineered around its Equaliser load-balancing module — so you can add chargers to homes other brands can't handle.
The tariff-optimiser specialist. Reads your Octopus / EDF data directly and schedules around the cheapest slots automatically — the most hands-off cost savings in the business.
Spanish manufacturer with a strong smart-home story. Compact Pulsar Plus for most homes, Copper SB for bidirectional (V2H/V2G) where your car and DNO allow.
Premium British design with finish that belongs on a wall you'll actually see. Aluminium body, Dyson-grade industrial design, and smart scheduling done quietly.
Electricians first, EV installers second. Every charger we fit is wired by someone who was qualified long before home charging existed — and who cares enough to do it properly.
As an OZEV-approved installer, we apply for your grant on your behalf. No chasing forms, no worrying about eligibility — we take it off your plate completely.
Part P signed-off, RCBO-protected, with DNO notification where required. The difference between a long-life install and a problem waiting to happen.
We live here, install here, and warranty what we fit. If something needs a call-back — rare, but it happens — we're a short drive away, not a distant call-centre.
Most home EV charger installs ignore solar; ours start with it. If you have panels, or you're planning to, we'll wire the charger to make the most of every surplus kWh.
